Profilo® Skin Booster

Neil Bulstrode has a wide experience using Botulinum toxins, such as Botox®, Azzalure® and Dysport®, Fillers such as Juvederm® and Profhilo® Skin Booster. Known as ‘The Injectable Moisturiser’, Profhilo enhances facial contours with the highest concentration of hero ingredient, hyaluronic acid. This pore-plumping treatment is designed to give you glowing skin that’s tighter, smoother and more youthful-looking, helping to fill fine lines and soften wrinkles instantly.

While the dose of hyaluronic acid hydrates and plumps the skin, a cocktail of slow-release ingredients encourages the production of collagen and elastin. Neil Bulstrode will expertly administer your perfect Profhilo dose to elevate luminosity, treat skin laxity and improve the quality of skin tissue for a rejuvenated look.

For your first Profhilo procedure, it’s recommended you have two treatments administered around four to six weeks apart to deliver optimal skin-boosting results. To prolong the effects, try maintenance treatments every four months thereafter. Dull, dehydrated, lacklustre skin will be a thing of the past.

Topics to be considered and discussed

  • Skin boosters are an exciting way to enhance and rejuvenate the skin in various areas of the body

  • Hyaluronic acid is found in the connective tissue of the skin

  • Injecting Profhilo Skin Booster can cause some discomfort for a short period of time but this settles quickly.  

  • Not just for enhancing facial features, Profhilo can also be used to improve skin texture on the neck, decolletage area, hands, knees and arms; areas that can be treated

    • Face

    • Neck

    • Décolletage

    • Hands

    • Inner arms 

PROCEDURE

Details of the procedure and follow up

  • Careful assessment and planning by a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

  • A calm and relaxed patient sitting comfortably

  • Targeted areas are injected leaving small bumps which will settle over the next 24-48 hours as the Profhilo spreads within the dermis of the face developing the hydrating and biomodulation effects

  • Combination treatment may be required eg Botulinum toxin

  • Gentle pressure may be required

GENERAL ADVICE

Advice for before and after the procedure

  • Massage gently the injection sites with arnicca cream for the first 2 days

  • Cooling with ice packs when home

  • Avoid lifting bending or staining for 3-4 hours

  • Unrestricted activities after 4 hours

POTENTIAL RISK

Whilst the chance of risk is very low, it must be discussed and understood

  • Local (Normally resolves quickly)
    - Pain
    - Tenderness
    - Erythema (redness)
    - Bruising
    - Numbness
    - Swelling for 3-5 days

  • Rare complications of infection and granuloma formation

  • Hypersensitivity occurs in 1/2000 patients

CONTRAINDICTIONS

Conditions or factors that serves as a reason to withhold a certain medical treatment

  • Previous Hypersensitivity

  • Telangectasia and rosacea (redness) may worsen

  • Tendency to excessive bleeding

  • Thrombocytopaenia (low platelets)

  • Haemophilia

  • Anticoagulation therapy

  • Aspirin
